As an expat, you can take out a mortgage in the Netherlands to finance (part of) your house. Of course, you won't get a mortgage just like that. Banks take your income and the value of your house into account. A bank wants to be sure that you can pay the mortgage costs, both now and in the future. Also take into account extra costs, for example for obtaining the mortgage or registering the house. You cannot include these in the mortgage.
